Who We Are

ThinkElectric Africa Initiative, is a non governmental organization with the sole mission of accelerating Africa’s transition to renewable energy and sustainable transport using technology,  practical research, education and advocacy.

Who We Are

Africa is slow to react to mitigating climate change and it is imminent that we transit to 100% renewable energy which is possible but on a gradual scale.

The era of fossil fuel is ending, there is a rapid technological shift from oil and gas to electricity and any economy that depends on oil and gas may become stranded, that will be catastrophic for Africa if caught unawares. Africa cannot afford a stranded asset in this present disposition.

ThinkElectric Africa Initiative is burning candles to see that Africa and her leaders wake up to the reality and begin to prepare our shift to an electricity dependent economy by advocating and educating the people and the government. We engage all stakeholders local and international to help facilitate an enabling policy environment that will encourage private investors to fast track this transitioning in Africa.

Our core competence and strategy is to make available an affordable and sustainable transportation and the application of Vehicle to Home (V2H) to light up the home after a day drive. With proper energy efficiency strategies, we are keen to demonstrate and make available Electric mobility in Africa. This is a necessary action to mitigate Africa becoming a dumping ground for obsolete and abandoned internal combustion vehicles from other part of the world.
