Project COVID-19 TechVsVirus

Due to the pandemic, ThinkElectric Africa Initiative was able to use the engineering and technical resources at her disposal to contribute greatly to the fighting of corona virus in Nigeria.

We were able to develop key tools in curbing the spread of covid-19 and the treatment of the affected patients by developing a ventilator which helps the patients finding it difficult to breath. It has vital controls such as I:E ratio, Tidal volume control, Breathe per minute and pressure control.

We also developed smart hand washers for public places so as to get a lot of people keep to strict hygienic protocol for curbing the spread of the virus.

Preparations are on going for the development of the sanitizer Boothe.

Project Switch2Green

Project Switch2Green is an initiative by ThinkElectric Africa to address the lack of skill set and capacity in the renewable energy sector with the aim of fulfilling the education aspect of our vision. Transitioning to green environment may be difficult and slow paced if there are no adequate and efficient hands to handle the tasks locally. The current efforts in Africa’s transition to a sustainable low carbon energy future seems inadequate to curb the climate change impacts.

Project Switch2Green will accelerate Africa’s transition to a sustained low carbon emissions with the newly trained and capable skill sets. Open up the job creation opportunities the renewable energy sector promises for economic benefits and poverty reduction of the beneficiaries while promoting environmental sustainability at the same time.

Considering the alarming rate of poverty and unemployed youth in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, a drastic switch over to renewable energy sector that promises a huge number of job creations can be ensured by building and developing the capacity of this population.

The Project Switch2Green focuses on solar installations, Bio-Digester constructions, and E-mobility technologies to build the capacity of the participants and stakeholders with practical knowledge and information on carbon emission reduction.

This project is in fulfillment of SDGs 7,13 and 1, 8 and 11 in part.

Project Waste2Wealth

Project Waste2Wealth is providing an opportunity for everyone to get in the recycling and upcycling activities.

In the real sense, waste to wealth will remain a myth if necessary measures are not taken to ensure adequate access to the right tools for the actual conversion of waste to wealth.

For us to ensure a sustainable and secured future, we must create a path to convert waste to wealth via recycling, upcycling and converting the biodegradable and non bio degradable wastes.

The high cost of equipment and tools needed for converting waste to wealth is a deterrent for many people interested in this venture, and in order to ensure a clean environment and environmental sustainability more people must be encouraged to key into these activities.

ThinkElectric Africa Initiative is intentional in resolving this issue by designing a very low cost and affordable mini recycling ,machines and tools using our engineering and technical skills. We are certain this project will encourage a huge number of people to get started on recycling business for wealth generation as well as environmental sustainability. The equipment qualifies for our recycling network application for the waste generators, collectors and recyclers.

The women and youth are most targeted for an empowerment with these equipment and tools so as to reduce poverty, provide job opportunities and at the same time ensure a clean environment.

This project satisfy SDGs 1, 2, 6.8, 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15. We are open to partnerships on this project as we make efforts to make the first batch of the machines available in the first quarter of 2021.

Project ImoleDe

ImoleDe in Yoruba language means “lightening has come”. The project focuses on making available cheap and affordable means of lightening for students and homes in rural community.

This innovation makes use of recycled and reused battery cells from dead laptop batteries.ThinElectric Africa take these cells through a series of procedures to rejuvenate the life cycle of the cells.

With 3D Printing of some parts and some electrical engineering stuff, we are able to provide battery powered lights that can be solar charged using the recycled cells.

Through this process also, we are able to produce power banks for charging mobile phones on the go. These power banks are equally charged through solar power.

This project saves the environment from toxic materials such as the dead laptop batteries that could easily make it to the landfills and oceans as a result of an inappropriate disposal.

The reusable dead laptop batteries that are mostly lithium ion are configured as a huge battery storage for renewable energy projects at a very affordable cost such as solar energy system, hydro power plant, wind power turbine etc.

Recycling and reusing these batteries promises to accelerate our rural electrification projects that will move us to sustained low carbon environment.

Project Sustainable Transport

Mobility is one of the fundamental conditions for sustainable, economic, and societal development in a country: trade, healthcare, education, political participation, or cultural interaction rely on reliable and affordable transport systems.

With the growing population and urbanization of African communities, the African transport sector is greatly threatened. Electric mobility is a perfectly suited solution for Africa’s rural and peri-urban areas.

ThinkElectric Africa Initiative is leading a research and development of electric mobility for the African community. We have demonstrated many of our E-mobility solutions with some prototypes and patent rights. We are also working with our partners to develop and manufacture E-mobility locally.

Our Solutions are targeted towards public transportation using micro mobility such as E-bicycles, E-Scooters, E-tricycles and Mini buses. These means of mobility are preferred to be locally manufactured so as to reduce the cost by at least 40%.

We have so far developed electric motor controllers, Battery management systems, and EV chargers locally using local materials. We are still developing more solutions to accelerate Africa’s transition to a sustainable transport.

Where practicable, our E-mobility are on a share ride applications for the public and are adapted for various settings and applications. In rural areas, the e-bicycles such as cargo bikes and cargo tricycles are preferred due to the terrain and the narrow nature of the road. while the E-mini buses and tricycles are preferred for the urban and peri-urban areas.

We believe that electric mobility is essential for Africa’s social and economic development and achieving global climate goals, and we are burning candles to bring this solutions to the public together and we are open to more partnerships to bring this solution home.
